It is always best to have in-person lessons when learning the Taubman Approach. I would also highly recommend that you attend the Golandsky Institute Summer Symposium.
To supplement your learning, I would recommend the
- Taubman Techniques Virtuosity in a Box 10 DVD set
- Golandsky Institute’s instructional books, videos, and free YouTube channel
- Healthy Typing video, which teaches how to type and mouse freely, without pain or discomfort. In addition to being helpful for any computer or smartphone user, any musician who wants to maximize their playing potential MUST type correctly
For a lesson, contact Edna or another certified GI teacher in your area. If you are not able to access a qualified teacher, (see post), it is possible to take Skype lessons. In the case of certain injuries, such as dystonia, in-person lessons are essential.
